Sashimi Sushi helps the climate
Sustainability is a particularly important topic for Sashimi Sushi. As far as we can, we try to protect nature as much as possible. In our restaurants, we attach great importance to working in a way that conserves resources. We avoid plastic waste as far as possible. Our own packaging is made from 100% environmentally friendly materials and we wish the entire food and cleaning industry would switch to this as soon as possible.
In addition, we have not only been trying to save energy since the Ukraine war. Most of our products are sourced regionally. With the nofoodwaste campaign, Sashimi Sushi has also declared war on food waste.
We have set ourselves the following three pillars as a basic effort to achieve a positive climate balance:
• Resource-saving work
• Predominant purchase of regional products
• environmentally friendly packaging materials for
Avoidance of plastic waste
Fortunately, we live in a time of change and greater awareness of our environment. We keep ourselves informed to further improve our environmental performance, because we know that there is always room for improvement. We would like to use this sensibly and are always receptive to constructive suggestions.
If possible, we would like to buy the products that we can obtain regionally here in the region. When it comes to our fish products, we focus primarily on quality, but we also make sure that we counteract overfishing of the seas. The fish used by Sashimi Sushi comes exclusively from strictly controlled fish farms with the purest water quality.
When it comes to fruit and vegetables, we prefer local organic products wherever possible. It is of course logical that avocados and acai berries do not grow in Hamburg. But we also pay close attention to the circumstances under which these are planted, harvested and transported. We also consider fair trade to be very important. This is the only way we can achieve the balance and equilibrium that is essential for compliance with economic and ecological sustainability.
Sashimi Sushi recognizes that our industry is at the forefront of food waste. This does not have to be the case and it hurts our hearts that too little is being done here. That's why we launched our nofoodwaste campaign. With this we make attractive bargains possible for you and have made an important contribution to our efforts to combat food waste. In case you don't know our promotion: Every day, one hour before closing time, we sell our self-made products at half price! We would be delighted if you would also support our campaign!
On the other hand, we buy very consciously. Also from a business point of view we cannot understand how other competitors buy in bulk that they can never sell. We would rather buy more than have to throw away valuable food. And if something is over, then it's over. In that case we are sorry for you, but on the whole you will also benefit from the freshness and quality of our food.
Our disposable packaging has long since stopped being made of plastic, which later ends up in the world's oceans. They are environmentally friendly and very easily biodegradable. So we at Sashimi Sushi protect the environment with our packaging. We hope that the other branches of industry will also switch here as soon as possible.
Of course you are also free to bring your own containers to us. Together we can do something good for the environment. And if you don't know the Recup program yet, we really recommend it to you. You can buy the reusable packs from us for a deposit and use them again and again or return them to us. A single REBOWL bowl saves nature up to 500 disposable packaging!
Since our opening in 1997, not only has sashimi sushi grown, but our awareness of nature and the climate has also expanded. We want to continue to focus on this in the future and drive change forward. We are observing what other options the market offers for more environmentally friendly measures and will always adapt our actions accordingly.
We want to be a role model for our industry and try to set visible signs, especially in this industry. We have Greta Thunberg by our side - we were even allowed to welcome you as our guest at Sashimi Sushi!
If you have any suggestions, ideas, or suggestions for improvement, we'd love to hear them. Please send us an email to office@sashimi-sushi.de
